Usage of an AUDISI client application for the first time on a machine
Each AUDISI client application need to connect to the AUDISI ONE-Server. Therefore, each client need to store the IP address and the Port number of the ONE-Server. Those are the only settings that are stored into the Windows registry.
PROBLEM:
When the IP and Port settings are not set as an Administrator, the settings are being written into those (wrong) locations:
- Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Audisi\ONE
- Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Audisi\ONE
Those settings do not apply to other users OR the settings are not being written at all.
SOLUTION 1:
- rightclick the shortcut of any AUDISI application and select: ‘Run as Administrator’
- Click on the AUDISI logo at the top
- select SETUP > Server > Network connection 1
- fill in the IP address and Port (default 40000)
This will write the values into the Windows Register key
- Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Audisi\ONE
At startup, an Audisi application will check this key first.
SOLUTION 2:
Use the command line options to force usage of specific IP address / Port number of the ONE-Server.
